Best of Big Sur: A closer look at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park

Sweet, sweet Big Sur. There is little that compares to it. As soon as we drive over Bixby Bridge and catch a glimpse of my favorite stretch of California coastline – I’m in my happy place. One of my favorite Big Sur destinations is Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. This gorgeous state park is home to the iconic McWay Falls and  some of the loveliest trails, forest, and coves I’ve ever seen.

These photos are from our first trip to Big Sur a little over one year ago. I was exploring my photo archives and found a batch that were taken in portrait, and I thought it would be fun to do something playful with them.

Here’s a closer look at some of my favorite nooks in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. The day we took these photos, it was slightly overcast and that made the whole scene a bit more dramatic. It was a beautiful day, and I want to take you along.
