McWay Falls: Big Sur, CA
Big Sur is breathtaking. It’s rich with beautiful hills, cliffs, spring blooms, thick forests, and a dramatic coastline. One of my favorite places to soak it all in is located inside Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. It is from the Overlook Trail within the state park, that you get to peek at one of Big Sur’s finest views, The McWay Waterfall. The McWay Waterfall is stunning. It’s one of the few waterfalls in the world that empties directly into the ocean at high tide. It’s also a sight that is best presented through imagery, and I hope we’ve captured a bit of the waterfall’s essence in these photos. Words just don’t do it justice. Take a look yourself, and if you’re ever in Big Sur, make sure you visit the McWay Falls. It’s an experience that will stay with you forever.
How to get there: The Overlook Trail
Why: Overlook a perfectly preserved waterfall, sea lions, wildlife, beautiful spring blooms, a bit of history, and the dramatic Big Sur coastline.
