Banana and Blueberry Green Monster
Today, I drank a Green Monster. I have been reading about these drinks for well over a year now, but for some reason, I’ve never mustered up the courage to take it on. I have been reading Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Diet , which is not about dieting, but about how her nutritious (and very vegetable-friendly diet) put her cancer into remission. I started reading it late last night and could not put it down! I woke up this morning ready to pick up some organic spinach. I wanted to try my hand at some green juice myself. One of the bloggers I follow, Angela at Oh She Glows, has been cheering on the amazing benefits of green juice for a while now so I went straight to her side blog, Green Monster Movement, to find a starter recipe. These were the alterations I made:
- I omitted the flaxseed, but will definitely add it next time.
- I used 1/2 frozen banana and 1/2 fresh banana and omitted the ice.
- I added 1/4 cup frozen blueberries.
My Blueberry and Banana Green Monster was amazing! I have no idea why it took me so long to try it, but I will be indulging in this little guy all of the time. I could not taste a hint of spinach. It was wildly refreshing and if the insane energy boost I am experiencing right now is from my little monster, I am hooked!
