Red Pepper Hummus and Egg Panini (and why Kettlebell is the perfect busy person’s workout!)

This morning I woke up and even though I felt excessively sluggish, I couldn’t get a certain thought out of my brain.

I needed an egg sandwich!

The egg sandwich craving soon summoned these guys:

Trader Joe’s 100% Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread, Fat Free Shredded Mozzarella, Wild Garden Fire Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Garlic Powder, Cajun Seasoning, Eggs

I pan fried an egg with a sprinkling of Cajun seasoning and garlic powder (my favorite egg seasonings!).  Next, I spread red pepper hummus on one side of the sourdough and added the egg and mozzarella. I toasted the sandwich on medium heat on my panini press until the cheese was well melted.

I think I am super powered to take on the day now! The egg and hummus were the perfect fuel for a kettlebell workout.

I, by the way, have come to believe that kettlebell is the perfect busy person’s workout. I have sworn by it for the last few months. I love how it combines my core, strengh training, and cardio workouts into one.

I no longer have to do separate sets of weight training, then abs, then cardio. I knock it all out at once!

Genius! How had someone not thought of this before? The design is by Bob Harper. I am trying out his new 50 minute kettlebell exercise today. If it’s anything like his intro-DVD that came with his kettlebell, I am in for it!
